Jennifer has been working with seven elementary schools in Austin ISD since 2023. These are seven of the many schools moving into modernized buildings over the coming years, which provides the opportunity to shift practices toward more flexible use of learning spaces and more collaborative, student-centered learning. Jennifer is working with district leaders, principals, implementation teams and teachers, supporting each community with professional learning workshops and coaching before they move, and she will continue to support each community in their use of modernized learning spaces once they're in the new buildings.

Professional learning work includes developing a Learner Profile for each campus, increasing collaboration among educators to prepare for more flexible spaces, and supporting educators as they develop spatial proficiencies and learn to think about their classrooms and teaching practices from a more flexible, student-centered perspective.
